Skipping Rocks

Bryan's Grandparents live on a lake. We were at their house celebrating the wonderful gift of longevity. They have each been blessed with 80 years on this planet, nearly 61 of which have been spent married to each other! The weather was unseasonably warm this particular February evening, so the kids enjoyed throwing rocks into the water. I really think this activity alone could entertain them for hours.

Isn't the sunset on the water beautiful? It goes quite well with Caroline's laugh provoking "cheese!"

It's a process you know?

You have to find just the perfect rock.

Once you have a good collection, you start launching them as far into the water as you can, while your Mom stands there nervously with a hand ready to grab you should your momentum of throwing the rocks pull you towards the water.

The only part that stinks is sometimes having to share with your little sister, but he did a really good job of it, saying sweetly each time he handed her a rock, "here you go Sissy."

Girl loves her Daddy.

Are these really my children? Time passes by so swiftly. I can only hope I am here one day celebrating 80 years of this beautiful thing called life.
